About moi
Hello! I'm Arabella, an Australian writer and communications consultant based in London. I’m passionate about storytelling; small local, and conscious brands; making a positive social impact; and exploring culture, art, and fascinating people.
Career
My love of writing started when I was 15, and I would spend my school holidays interning at organisations like Channel 9 News, News Corp and Bauer Media (very cool, I know). Fast forward 15 years, and I’ve worked with a range of global publications, companies and organisations in both full-time and freelance capacities. Some of these full-time positions include Regional Media Coordinator for Amnesty International, Senior Communications Officer for The Physical Disability Council, Marketing and Content Specialist for multinational optician and retail chain Bailey Nelson and Head of Communications for social innovation agency Year Here.
In 2015, I co-founded The Ladies Network, a multi-platform agency that ran until 2018. It was created to raise the commercial profile of women, trans and non-binary creatives locally and internationally. Here, I commissioned dozens of contributing writers, helping to build a following of over 50,000. In 2020, I co-founded The Foreword, a newsletter profiling fascinating professionals, with each guest nominating someone in a different field, kind of like a never-ending conga line of inspiration.
Official stuff
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications (Journalism) from The University of Technology, Sydney; a Content Marketing Certification from the London College of Communication; A Diploma in SEO Content Writing from The College of Media and Publishing; and a Certificate in Media Communications (Journalism) from Meadowbank College. I was a finalist in the Forbes 30 Under 30 2021 list in the Media and Marketing category and the 2021 D&AD Side Hustle Awards.
Clients
I’m all about using digital communication to contribute to positive social change. I like to ensure that at least half my work is in the social impact space, working with non-profits, charities and social enterprises. I also love collaborating with small, local and socially conscious companies, including fashion, beauty, art and lifestyle brands.
Extra-curricular
When I’m not working, you’ll find me strolling around Victoria Park with a chai latte, watching horror films, playing board games or exploring the UK countryside.
